There is a difference between limitation and delusion. Limitation has to do with not knowing, not being able, making mistakes and even being wrong. These things are effortless. Delusion is altering the truth, even just a little, to keep your ego from being exposed as a bogus notion. This takes effort. There is only one source of motivation to create delusion, and that is to keep your ideas of yourself intact. Those ideas would be destroyed by truth.
Truth is not a compound of the best (most appealing) ideas offered from authoritative sources.
If you are truly interested in freedom, then understand that all objects, people and experiences that you have always held dear hang by the most fragile thread of circumstance. This includes all ideas (including spiritual beliefs) of self, others, and the world, and most importantly ideas about freedom.
Freedom is not avoidance. Freedom is inclusive, avoidance is exclusive.
Some people say truth cannot be known. This is a half-truth and this is where the sense of self (ego) that will eventually fall apart hides. Of course knowledge is not truth, it is the past and truth is always present. Knowledge is attained, truth cannot be attained because it is not lost. There is only one mechanism of untruth and that is mind, there is no other. If you still the mind for even a moment you will see that you cannot find anywhere that truth is not present. Even if the truth is that you don’t know, that is far better than being deluded. Not knowing does not destroy any possibility however, being deluded does.
